Gian Marco Funari is an Italian swimwear brand, born in Rome from the meeting of fashion, art and imagination.

THE FOUNDER
Gian Marco Funari, Art Director and founder of the eponymous brand, was born in Rome in 1989. The Eternal City, majestic and cinematic, has always been an endless source of inspiration.
He attended the Liceo Artistico Ripetta, where his passion for art history, colour and materials first took shape. At the age of eighteen, a visit to an exhibition dedicated to Valentino at the Ara Pacis revealed to him that fashion could become a language through which to express his own creative universe.
He studied Fashion Design at IED in Rome and began his journey in haute couture as a fashion illustrator for prestigious Italian fashion houses, including Gattinoni and Valentino. He later developed his experience as a designer in Florence at Roberto Cavalli, followed by Alberta Ferretti.
Over time, drawing became intertwined with photography, styling and art direction. Different disciplines converged into a single desire: to give shape to a deeply personal vision.
From this desire, Gian Marco Funari was born.
